Powerboat Course - Weekend Sep 24/25
There are still a few places remaining on
the powerboat course. This course typically costs e250 so this is great value
(even more so if you have not received a rebate for doing a course already!).
It's also lots of fun as you'll get to drive the RIBs
from the George. Everybody involved in either Dinghy or Ruffian sailing should
aim to take this course.
Course: Powerboat ISA Level 2 Course
Location : Royal St George Yacht
Club
Date: 24/25 September 2005
Course Fee for SID members
: €195 Includes
log book and light lunch both days.
Please contact Damien you are
interested.
If you paid the full membership fee this year
and have not yet claimed your single subsidy of €50 towards the cost of an
approved sailing course, this is your chance! If you are thinking of
completing this course why not get some practice in before hand on the SID
rescue boat?

Evening Courses
With those evenings freed up you should think
about shorebased courses for the dark nights.
Costal Skipper and Yachtmaster theory
courses are well worth doing even if you have no ambition to seek qualifications
(or even for dinghy sailors!). These cover Safety, Navigation, Weather & Rules Of The Road. You can do these
through DMYC, Glenans, Newpark
Com and a number of other VECs.
First Aid training is also something
everybody should do. You could even try "Marine Engine Maintenance"
in Cabinteely for something different
